Matthew McConaughey Gets Wet In LA

Matthew McConaughey spoke to Los Angeles Confidential Magazine and we have some exclusive quotes for you!

On fatherhood:
“It feels pretty natural. The instincts kinda took over, and I’ve been rolling with it. [Levi]’s seven months old now, and after six months, there’s a real change. Their personalities really start coming through.” On traveling the dad says, “he’s already got five stamps on his passport! He’s been to Europe and Brazil. Culture and travel are the two best educators in my life, and I’ve been fortunate to have been exposed to quite a bit of both.”

On his new film, “Ghosts of Girlfriends”:
“It was great to have a character with a full-on anti-establishment point of view. The guy believes love is a myth. He struts through the first part of the story with a very R-rated perspective. The he runs into these ghosts. He doesn’t see the light thanks to someone else’s logic; it’s ghosts. He gets the sh*t scared out of him.”
…and there you have it!

Matthew McConaughey In Los Angeles Confidential Magazine

Matthew McConaughey graces the cover of Los Angeles Confidential this month and he had quite a lot to say in his interview with them!

On what relationship advice he'll pass on to his son Levi.

There will always be a natural attraction that comes at first for most men and women. I'd say, don't complicate it, because it will get complicated on its own. Enjoy trying to figure women out because you'll do it for the rest of your life. Expect change every time you think you've got the answer."

He adds,

Enjoy trying to figure women out, because you'll do it for the rest of your life."

On what his own parents taught him. "If you go in for a kiss, and she hesitates, stop, respect her impulses. Any sort of action you take in intimacy needs to be reciprocated. If a woman hesitates, you stop. After you stop, the woman might say, 'Let's go ahead,' but then you don't. Don't be in a rush. That'll come next time." He goes on to talk about what his mom had to say: "Mom always taught us relationships are 50-50. She may be a catch, but you're a catch too. We had mom preaching that you've got to respect yourself, respect your body, respect your time, and then Pop reminding us to respect women and gentleman. Open the door, pull out the chair."

Were things this open in your household talking about love, sex and relationships when you grew up?

Add Him To The List- Matthew McConaughey

Add Him To The List- Matthew McConaughey

A while back, Topher wrote a fantastic article about the top 5 men we wish were homos… and the 5 we wish weren’t. Someone that I, personally, wish had been added to the “wish we were” list is none other than Matthew McConaughey.

First of all, Matthew is G-to-the-orgeous!

Second, he has a really great habit of taking off his clothes- both in movies and during his beach workouts/runs. Yum.

Third, he’s actually a great guy! Our friends over at Niche Media’s Los Angeles Confidential magazine recently interviewed Matthew for their May issue- which hits stands this week- and were kind enough to share some excerpts with us as a teaser!

When asked about his seemingly natural ability with women, Matthew admitted that he wasn’t actually born a ladies man- his parents taught him how to be one! In the upcoming Los Angeles Confidential issue, Matthew opens up about the birds-and-the-bees talk his father gave him, “If you go in for a kiss, and she hesitates, stop, respect her impulses. Any sort of action you take in intimacy needs to be reciprocated. If a woman hesitates, you stop. After you stop, the woman might say, ‘Let’s go ahead,’ but then you don’t. Don’t be in a rush. That’ll come next time.” From his mom he learned that relationships are 50-50, saying “She may be a catch, but you’re a catch too. We had mom preaching that you’ve got to respect yourself, respect your body, respect your time, and then Pop reminding us to respect women and be gentlemen. Open the door, pull out the chair.”

Mr. McConaughey is already preparing to pass on his words of wisdom and love advice to 7-month old son, Levi: “I’d say, don’t complicate it, because it will get complicated on its own. Enjoy trying to figure women out, because you’ll do it for the rest of your life.” Pretty sound advice to me. The only way it could be even better is if he’d included “guys” in there as well! (Hey, the gay community might be missing out on Matthew McConaughey being gay, but there could be hope for his son- right?)

Rourke's Comeback in L.A. Confidential Mag

Golden Globe winner Mickey Rourke's recognizable face graces the cover of the January/February issue of Los Angeles Confidential magazine -- proving he's back and ready to take a second shot at Hollywood.

In the article, the 52-year-old reveals the challenges he faced while working on "The Wrestler," his upcoming projects, and he even gives advice to the current rebels of showbiz, saying, "I self-destructed. It took me 10 years in therapy to change my ways. They're going to find out the hard way that maybe you can get away with that s*** when you're in your twenties, but when Hollywood closes the door on [them], there's not many guys who can be out of work 13 or 14 years that they're going to give a second chance to."
